Dr Donald MacAskill AuD MSc BSc Audiological Scientist with over 20 years of Clinical Audiology experience.
Donald MacAskill is a Audiological Scientist with over 20 years of Clinical Audiology experience. He has expertise in child and adult focused hearing services and was been previously employed in Addenbrooke’s Audiology Department in Cambridge, England under Dr Josephine Marriage and Dr David Baguley who are both internationally renowned experts in their fields of audiology.
He was involved in the original digital hearing aid project in England in 1998 and was responsible for introducing this service properly in Forth Valley Scotland in 2005. He was also responsible for setting up the newborn hearing screening service in Forth Valley.

He was on the Scottish national audiology steering group which was responsible to the Scottish Health Minister.
He has been editor of the British Academy of Audiology magazine and has been responsible for organising over 20 national and international study days in Audiology.
As a head of service, his team were innovative bringing the concept of the one stop assessment and fitting of hearing aids to the National Health Service and were instrumental in increasing the use of receiver in the canal products. His teams have won the British Academy of Audiology “team of the year” twice in three years and under peer review were shown to be the best department in Scotland for both adult and paediatric services in 2008/9 and 2010/11. He currently works in Canada.
His qualifications include a Clinical Doctorate in Audiology from Nova SouthEastern University in Florida, The Certificate of Audiological Competence from the British Association of Audiological Scientists (now British Academy of Audiology), a Masters Degree in Audiology from the University of Manchester and a Batchelors Degree in Health Studies from Queen Margaret College (now University) in Edinburgh.
He is registered with the Health Professionals Council in the UK as a Clinical Scientist in Audiology and has a vast experience of leading, innovating and developing Audiology services as well as lecturing and supervising students at all levels.
